Folsom Opens Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing
What: Brief dedication ceremony and grand opening of the $2.12 million East Bidwell Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing. The new bridge offers a safe crossing over busy East Bidwell Street and completes the final link of the Humbug Willow Creek Trail from the El Dorado County line to Folsom Boulevard.
When: 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 (rain or shine)
Where: Park on Harrington Drive off East Bidwell Street. Ceremony at the south end of the bridge approach.
Who: Local cycling enthusiasts will join Mayor Jeff Starsky, City Manager Kerry Miller, Parks & Recreation Director Robert Goss and Senior Trails Planner Jim Konopka.
Visuals: The bright green 475-foot-long, 12-foot-wide bridge will be filled with cyclists and pedestrians who have eagerly awaited the opening of the new overcrossing.
