On Friday, January 29 at approximately 7:00 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Iron Point Road and Folsom Boulevard for a robbery that occurred near the Iron Point Light Rail Station. Two male subjects followed the 43 year-old female victim to the Iron Point Light Rail Station and took her purse.

A witness observed both suspects place something over their faces, one put on a thin beanie cap with eye holes cut out and the other covered his face with a scarf. One of the suspects approached the victim and put his arm around her throat while the other suspect took her purse out of her hands. Both suspects then fled on foot. Officers quickly responded and set up a perimeter in order to contain the suspects. California Highway Patrol officers also assisted with perimeter containment.

The first suspect was quickly located near the Iron Point Light Rail Station and he was apprehended without incident. The second suspect fled on foot southbound and he was subsequently found by a Folsom Police canine. The canine led officers to the Folsom Auto Mall where the second suspect was hiding.

The canine also located the purse behind the Larkspur Landing Hotel. Both suspects were arrested and booked at Juvenile Hall for robbery and conspiracy. The female victim did not suffer any physical injuries and her purse was recovered.

Because both suspects were juveniles, their names will not be released.
