The Historic Folsom reconstruction is powering along now. Here is a construction update from Shannon Cheyne, Folsom Historic District Association Director.
Construction update:
900 block: forming and pouring concrete for sidewalks on the north side. Street should be open to one lane for vehicle traffic. This work will be moving toward the 800 block. It is so exciting to see concrete being formed. This will be our first glimpse of what our new sidewalks will look like!
800 block: Teichert is grading the ground on the north side, prepping for concrete work.
700 block: Work on the sewer lines. They have at least 3 more weeks of this work before they move the equipment to the north side of the street and begin working on the other half. During working hours, the block will continue to be closed. After working hours, the street will open back up to one lane of traffic.
600 block: Sewer work continues throughout the entire block. Please expect the block to be closed to vehicle traffic during working hours. When possible, Planet Earth Rising and Powerhouse Pub parking lots will be opened up.
Scott Street – On Friday and all next week, Scott will be closed for storm drain work. Traffic will be detoured to Riley.
Teichert now has one person assigned to evaluate the traffic flow and signage throughout the district. This person will be reviewing every detour and pedestrian signage program throughout the day to assure the signage is accurate. This is a wonderful addition!
