Combined Auditions for Holiday in the Hills and The Magic Toyshop
When: Wednesday, Oct. 5 – 7:00pm
Where: Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter Street, Folsom
Auditions will be cold readings and a short song.
What to Bring: A Headshot and Resume if you have them. Also, bring a short song and sheet music accompaniment or a CD. No a cappella please. (See note under The Magic Toyshop audition info.)
Audition Notes for Holiday in the HIlls
Holiday in the Hills is our annual Christmas musical featuring song, dance and skits centered around the Historical Folsom era of the 1800’s.
The show runs Dec. 2 through Dec. 23 with performances Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 4:00pm plus weekdays the week before Christmas at 7:00pm each evening.
Rehearsals will be in November with time off during Thanksgiving week.
Roles are based on historical characters from the late 1800’s. All ages are needed; adults, teens, children.
Audition Notes for The Magic Toyshop.
The Magic Toyshop is a delightful musical that is perfect for the Christmas season.
While it is a musical, the singing is minimal and some characters do not sing at all, so if you do not sing, don’t let that stop you from auditioning.
The show runs Dec. 10 through Dec. 30 with performances on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 plus weekday 1:00 performances the weeks of Dec. 12 & Dec. 19 and Dec. 26. There may also be some morning school shows.
Rehearsals will be in November with a break during Thanksgiving week.
Cast:
Toymaker – Can be Male or Female late teen through adult.
Old Woman – Should can be late teen or adult–she turns into the magic fairy in the end.
