On Tuesday, August 2, 2011, residents throughout Folsom will join neighborhoods across the nation to celebrate the 28th Annual National Night Out.
City of Folsom residents are planning block parties, ice cream socials and other community events to celebrate National Night Out. These activities allow neighbors to get to know one another with the thought that together they can fight to keep crime out of their neighborhoods. City of Folsom Mayor, City Council Members, City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Chief of Police, Police Officers and Fire Fighters, and other City representatives will be out visiting these neighborhood celebrations as a show of support for their safety efforts.
National Night Out is an event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime fighting efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Folsom Police Department is solving crimes and arresting criminals through active cooperation with our citizenry. To start a Neighborhood Watch program in your neighborhood contact Rosie Kracher at (916) 351-3409.
Folsom Police encourage residents to stay informed on what is happening in our community.
