Sutter Street Theatre in historic Folsom is once again opening its doors to students of all ages with a wide variety of classes in theatre, art and dance. Classes are held at the Sutter Street Theatre Annex, 710 Figueroa Street, and most run year-round with monthly tuition.

Improv with Allen Schmeltz

One of the theatre’s most popular programs is Improv for Young People, led by award-winning director Allen Schmeltz. Designed for ages 12 to 18, the class meets Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Students learn acting and improvisation through theatre games and exercises in a safe, supportive environment. Schmeltz says improv not only builds acting skills, but also confidence and teamwork.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Tuition is $70 per month, but the first class is free. Interested families can contact Schmeltz directly at (916) 802-2249 or email aschmeltz2000@gmail.com
