A collision involving a Hyundai sedan and a bicycle on Parkshore Drive west of Folsom Boulevard in Folsom left the bicyclist hospitalized with serious injuries.
At about 4:45 pm a caller reported a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist on Parkshore Drive west of Folsom Boulevard. The 60 year old male bicyclist had regained consciousness by the time officers arrived. Folsom Fire personnel transported the bicyclist to an area hospital with non-life threatening but serious injuries.
Investigators believe the vehicle and bicyclist were traveling eastbound on Parkshore Drive when, without indication, the bicyclist turned left into the path of the vehicle. The bicyclist went up onto the hood and window of the vehicle before landing on the ground. Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
Folsom Police Major Accident Response Team (MART) is investigating the collision. Investigators are asking for anyone who might have witnessed this collision to contact the Folsom Police Department at 916-351-3553.
