Construction Update As Historic District Work Progressing Well

9 1/2 Weeks To Go To Substantial Completion Deadline

Shannon Cheyne reports from Folsom Historic District that with the deadline quickly approaching, the contractor, Teichert is spread throughout the Historic District, working both day and night to get work done as quickly as possible.
600 block: Teichert is continuing to dig in preparation for PG&E services.  In addition, there will be underground electrical work through next week.  PG&E is scheduled to work on the 600 block, starting next Wednesday, 9/15, during daylight hours.
The 600 block shed roof removal is scheduled at night, next Wednesday 9/15.  Merchants and building owners should remove any personal items or attached signage no later than Wednesday.

Riley: Night work on Riley will continue this evening (Thursday).  Due to some plan changes, work will continue on Riley Sunday and Monday nights. No parking is allowed on the corners of the Riley/Sutter Intersection by Mélange and the Hotel in order to allow work to continue. Night Work hours are typically 8PM to 6AM

700 block: Water underground continues during the day through the remainder of this week and next.  Shed roof demolition will begin on the 700 block as early as Thursday 9/17. Merchants and building owners should remove any personal items or signage attached to their shed roof no later than Thursday.

Once the shed roofs are all removed a temporary lighting system will be placed along the headers of the buildings to provide lighting for the walkways.

Wool Street: Work continues on the Storm drain at the intersection of Wool and Sutter.  This work will continue through next week.  They are working down Wool, and plan to be on lower Wool by the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday next week.  This work continues in daylight hours and Wool Street will be closed during working hours.

800 block: PG&E is finishing installation of gas services.  They are scheduled for completion on Tuesday, 9/14.  Once completed, Teichert will connect downspouts to buildings, at night. Once these are connected, the next step is grading for the new concrete and forming for concrete.  Starting Monday 9/13, Teichert will demolish the road where the new concrete extends into the roadway in the 800 block in order to begin the remaining concrete work.  This work will be take place during the day.

Teichert and the City will set up temporary lighting along the 800 block next week.

Hop Sing Restaurant basement is undergoing repairs now and through next week.

900 block:Starting Monday 9/13, Teichert will demolish the road where the new concrete extends into the roadway in the 900 block in order to begin the remaining concrete work.  This will be happening during the day.
