Reducing the number of alcohol related collisions and providing a safe driving environment is a priority for the Folsom Police Department. Therefore, an Impaired Driving checkpoint will be conducted from 7 pm to 3 am on Friday May 28, 2010 at an undisclosed location within the city limits of Folsom.
Thirteen officers from Folsom, Elk Grove, Los Rios, and the Alcohol Beverage Control, in coordination with Citizen’s Assisting Public Safety (CAPS) volunteers, and Folsom Community Service Officers will be working to keep Folsom safe from drug and alcohol impaired drivers. Members from the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) may also be in attendance.
Funding for this program was provided by a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
