Kapneck lived in Washington D.C. and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. He attended George Washington University, was elected to the Maryland State Convention, and was appointed special advisor on Higher Education to the Governor’s office. He was appointed by Governor Marvin Mandel to open Maryland’s first overseas office in Brussels, Belgium as the State’s Trade Ambassador. He assisted the Federal Government in “Invest in the USA”.

The DFEH filed an accusation with the Fair Employment and Housing Commission after investigating a complaint from the co-manager, who began working at Bath & Body Works in August 2007. The complainant claimed that from his first day on the job, his female supervisor referred to him multiple times a day using slurs based on his sexual orientation, drew pictures of male genitals, which she hung in the store’s back room, told his co-workers that he liked kissing boys, and falsely claimed that his attitude was affecting the work environment. The Department’s accusation further alleged that, although another store manager witnessed the harassment and the employee complained to the district manager, Bath & Body Works failed to stop the harassment, ultimately forcing the complainant to quit.

“The Department of Fair Employment and Housing takes great pride in leading the enforcement of California’s civil rights laws,” said DFEH Director Phyllis Cheng. “This compelling case should remind employers that they must have policies in place to prohibit discrimination and harassment against employees—and employ managers who can enforce those policies.”

As part of the $70,000 settlement, Bath & Body Works, LLC agreed to provide discrimination and harassment prevention training to its supervisors and managers, provide training to all new hires within 60 business days of hire, display posters informing employees of their right to report discrimination to the DFEH, and retain copies of all complaints of discrimination and harassment made by employees alleging a violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act. Bath & Body Works did not admit to any liability in the agreement to settle.

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing protects the people of California from unlawful discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations and from hate violence.

Google comes in like a Tsunami and crushes all that comes in its path.

Google TV, simply put, aims to bring the internet and the browser to your TV. Imagine then, the possibilities of being a part of the revolution that is currently in the making. You can watch your favorite programs on the TV while streaming them from the web and use it almost like your computer. Of course, Google will decide how to commercialize it later, by introducing ads etc but for now, this seems like a haven for those who want to use the web and the TV in conjunction, to recreate an enthralling TV viewing experience.

Dr. Laura’s announcement comes after a media frenzy surrounding her use of the “N” word 11 several times on her radio program on August 11, 2010. An African American woman in an interracial marriage called in and requested advice about friends and family members who made what she termed racist comments.

Dr. Laura said that people often interpret comments as racist when they are not. She proceeded to “make a philosophical point” by saying that black comedians say, “N…, N…, N…” all the time. Dr. Laura used the N word 11 times during the call. After the caller was taken aback, Dr. Laura quickly ended the call, explaining that if the woman was that hypersensitive she should not have married outside of her race.

Though Dr. Laura is ending her syndicated radio program that has been on the air for 30 years, she said she is not retiring. She will continue to be a presence on the Internet, write books, and use other venues to get her message out. Nevertheless since Dr. Laura’s main outlet, radio, will no longer be an income stream, it will be wise for the queen of talk to keep abreast of issues in other ways.
